  • Yahoo's History of Math Page This is an excellent resource for students and teachers. This page provides access to files of over 500 biographies of mathematicians.
  • The Galileo Project Homepage Rice University's Galileo Project is a source of information on the life and work of Galileo Galilei (1564-1642).
  • The Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Mathematics Founded in 1974, this society promotes research and teaching in the history and philosophy of mathematics.

• Algebra

  • Texas Instruments Home Page These pages include resources for math educators who are interested in finding lessons and programs for the TI-81,82, and 85 graphing calculators. These lessons and calculator programs are appropriate for Algebra II and beyond.
  • The Math Forum on the Web Good activites and resources for Algebra/Math education.
  • Lessons by Susan Boone. These lessons were created through a program called GirlTECH, with Algebra 1 students in mind.

  • Gallery of Interactive Geometry Interactive Multidimensional Geometric Manipulatives from the University of Minnesota. Neat stuff.
  • Mathmol Instructional project in molecular modeling and 3-D visualization for K-12 students and teachers.
  • Fractals This page examines the mathematics behind building fractal images, and gives some sample images. There are also some interesting links to other sites related to fractals.

  AP Statistics These pages contain new information regarding the Advanced Placement Statistics course and exam.

  • TI-83 Graphing Calculator

    This page is an introduction to the new Texas Instruments Graphics Calculator, the TI-83. Some of the its new features include advanced statistics including hypothesis testing and confidence intervals; finance functions including Time-Value-of-Money, NPV, IRR, and amortization.

     

• Integrated Math Sites

  • Mathematics of Cartography by Cynthia Lanius. This is a very fine integrated unit on mapping by one of the organizers of the Girl Tech Project.
  • Steve's DumpThis site is included in The Math Forum pages. It has links to many math topics for teacher's use.
  • GirlTech Project Integrated project to involve middle school and high school girls in math, science and technology developed by Rice University. Some good use of net resources for math instruction.
