Concerning the new Computer Lab purchases, there have been some major glitches along the way with some of the Districts' approved vendors - particularly with the PCs to be purchased for the PC Lab - but that is/or should very shortly be resolved. The problem has not been with Jon or with the Data Center. Jon and his subcontractors have been working night and day for quite a while now trying to resolve many issues that have come up and have gone above and beyond to try to get all lines/equipment installed and fully operational. Remember, if it weren't for Jon we might not have gotten the eRate money for a new network and new teaching Labs in the first place. AND our old eMail system, xxx@acboe.org is no longer operational - we will be using a web-based eMail system that teachers will signup for with their new Powerbooks (to be issued Monday during inService). Many advantages to this - including eMail access from any computer and eMail access from home. Things have not been running smoothly - kinda like Murphy's law -- whatever can go wrong will go wrong - but our patience, perseverance, and hard work will pay off for the students and the staff/faculty of the district.
