The Memorial/Commemerative Tree Program means quite a lot to those who wish to remember and honor those special people and events in their lives and with the scheduled planting of approximately 40 new trees the Garden Club would like to make the following requests:

(1) try to contain plantings well within the mulched area around the tree and make sure any borders are durable so that Public Works' employees who maintain the areas are not injured by flying pieces broken off when caught in equipment, this also means less replacement cost to you;

(2) we would prefer only small flags and live plants, but if seasonal decorations, artificial or plastic flowers are placed they should be removed within a 2 week period.

(3) nothing should be put in or on the trees themselves. We realize the placing of certain "mementos" are a source of comfort, but we ask you to remember that we would like to keep the trees and area as simple as possible.

Any items found not in conformance with these requests will be removed without notice.
